Euro Adventures Pt 1 - Catch ya Aus

The adventure has officially begun. A cruisey 3 hour drive up to Sydney and we are on our way - well almost. It's waiting time, 4 hours in an airport (any airport) is never going to be a barrel of laughs. But we are surviving... With a little help from our friend

T-minus one hour until boarding. Can't wait to begin this incredible adventure with one of my best friends. Oh the places we will go, the people we will meet, the food we will eat, the awesome stuff we will do!!!! We are beyond excited. I am just going to use this blog as a reminder of all the amazing things we do, see, and experience. I do not want to miss a minute of it!

Euro Adventures Pt 12 - Driving The Day Away, To Venice We Go

Sometimes I cannot believe I am on this tour, living this lifestyle, I never thought I would be able to handle it... My body may be telling me that I can't. But I will still power through! This is one of those days - one of those days where I need to power through, buck up, not be a princess and suck up the massive pain in my tailbone and endure a long day in a bus... But at least at the end we will be in one of my favourite places in the world, Venice! Already on our 11th day... 11 days away from our jobs, from our families, from our boyfriends, it's been hard, but we have tried to make every day as fun as we can - even the drive days, and this one was a long one - we did, however, have one notable stop... Euro Adventures Pt 17 - When In Rome...

Waking up in Rome, such a surreal thing, travelling somewhere so different, I always find myself thinking, 'wow'. 16 days in, still sick, still a very sore tailbone (I do have fears it might be cracked or a severely bruised bone), but still trying to do my very best every day to have a great time. We had another early start today and most of us had chosen to do the Vatican City tour, we had a local guide take us through the Musee Vaticani and through some different galleries, into the Sistine Chapel and through to St Peters Basilica. There was little to no air conditioning throughout the entirety of the tour, so we all walked out dripping with sweat. But for me it was worth it, I love the history surrounding this place and all that comes with it - it was just as exciting for me now as it was 7 years ago. Euro Adventures Pt 7 - The Medieval Town of Avignon

Today we head off to the town of Avignon today - one of the oldest medieval towns in France. It houses the only other home of past Popes other than the Vatican. We are lucky enough to have been arriving the same day as the popular Avignon Festival which happens every July and is a massive performing arts festival. We had a long 6-7 hour drive to reach our hostel - it was a really bumpy and windy drive so I found myself feeling very ill, we stopped for a picnic lunch and were very surprised to find the strangest squat/drop toilets I have ever seen before in my life... In Australia we have long drops... But we have nothing like this. I was going to give it a try for the sake of this blog but I chickened out. I took a picture too...
